Early Christmas!

Well, we have already had a few Christmas gatherings. We made the trip to Didsbury, Alberta on the weekend. It was a quick trip, but it was great to see all my relatives. You know you are in for a good time when the Hildebrand's are together. I don't have any pics to show today. Hopefully I will get some soon. Of course, what gathering is complete without eating every hour and a half. It has begun! The nonstop smorgesbord (I don't really know how to spell that) of food. Yum! Anyway, school is wrapping up. We are getting ready for the Christmas play next week. My kids are the actors every year, so that always means a bit more stress. I do love it though.

I just came home from baking with my mom. I made 175 sour cream cookies. A family favourite. Those cookies better not get eaten by the time the week is up.

My husband just decided that we should have our Christmas tonight. At 10 pm. Wednesday. I don't think so. An eager little boy ready to tear into the gifts. No, he is actually just excited to give my my gift. I can't believe that this is already our second married Christmas together. It goes so quickly. I never would have imagined just how quick. It is fun to carry on each other's family traditions and also make some new ones of our own. I love Christmas!

Danny's Birthday!

The wonderful love of my life celebrated his 26th birthday last week. We went home to his parents' house for the weekend. It was a nice time to get away. I am so thankful for the man that God has blessed me with. I never knew it was possible to feel this way about anyone. I am a very lucky girl!! Happy Birthday baby! I look forward to celebrating many more with you.

No voice!!

Let me just say that I am so thankful that my voice has returned. After almost 2 days of hardly more than a squeak, I am finally able to talk again. For no reason, it just left me. It is kind of difficult to teach with no voice. I think it was my body's way of telling me it needed a break. Danny thought it was great! The house was quiet and he could go to sleep sooner because I couldn't talk. Very funny, dear!

Is it Friday yet?

It has just been one of those weeks. I have not had one single moment to myself or to relax in the last 7 or 8 days. Work has been crazy. Finally, I feel as though I can relax...and then my marking and the house cleaning that is over due come into mind. Sometimes it feels like I just can't get ahead. Anyway, through this busy time, I am thankful for small pick me ups like the lights on my Christmas Tree, a hug from my wonderful husband, a joke from a student, or a Christmas orange! Yeah, life is good despite the busy.

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!

Well, the Christmas season has officially began in our home. We put up our Christmas tree yesterday (The picture kind of takes away from how nice it actually looks). It is a little different this year having a kitty. She has become quite fascinated with the balls on the tree. Let's just say she is getting quite a few showers! Our Christmas shopping is half done and we really feel like we will be prepared early this year. I am so excited about starting this Christmas season already. Ho Ho Ho!
